Jun 15, 2007· I am putting a washer pit in my back yard. I've purchased 3" pvc pipe (5" cuts) and the washers. For the pit, I bought four 50 pound bags of sand and two 40 pound bags of decomposed granite. I want to put about two inches of sand down (pack it) and spread the granite over the sand (packing it as well). Has anyone else ever used decomposed granite?
