The high-purity hematite concentrate containing about 97.91% Fe 2 O 3 was supplied by the LKAB (Luossavaara Kiirunavaara Aktiebolag) Company in Sweden. The XRD pattern of hematite concentrate (hereafter referred to as initial hematite) only showed the hematite reflection peaks . The chemical analysis of initial hematite is also given in Table 2.

The particle size of the mineral samples used in the study was less than 38 μm (d80). The concentrate primarily consisted of chalcopyrite, bornite, covellite, hematite and pyrite. The chemical composition and mineralogy are shown in Table 1 and Fig. 3. In all the leaching experiments, analytical grade concentrated sulphuric acid was used.

Kinetics analysis of hematite (Fe2O3) reduction by hydrogen was evaluated by the thermogravimetric analyser (TGA) in the temperature range of 700–950 °C, using continuous streams of 5, 10, and 20% H2 concentrations in N2. A number of kinetic models have been considered, including the single and multi-step models to describe the experimental reduction data.

In this study, a fluxed hematite concentrate was pelletized with various types of binders: lignite plus sodium hydroxide, calcium bentonite activated with modified humic acid (MHA) and MHA binder.

Apr 18, 2015· A novel ironmaking process is under development at the University of Utah to produce iron directly from iron oxides concentrates by the gas–solid flash reaction using gaseous fuels and reductants. This process will reduce energy consumption and minimize carbon dioxide emissions. Having investigated the hydrogen reduction kinetics of magnetite and hematite concentrate particles .

The chemical analysis results indicate that the Brazilian hematite concentrate is high quality iron ore, and whose binary natural alkalinity is 0.083, belongs to an acidic mine. In addition, the FeO content of Brazilian hematite concentrate is low, at 9.01%, that can be speculated, ferric iron is mainly present in the form of hematite.

Mar 15, 2007· The high-purity hematite concentrate used in this study was kindly supplied by the LKAB (Luossavaara Kiirunavaara Aktiebolag) company in Sweden. The chemical analysis showed that the initial hematite powder contained about 97.91% Fe 2 O 3, 0.73% Al 2 O 3, 0.73% SiO 2, 0.26% TiO 2, 0.20% MgO, 0.022% MnO, and 0.088% P 2 O 5 .

The maximum adsorption capacity of As(III) on porous hematite was achieved at pH 6.0 and 25 °C, about 14.46 mg g-1, compared with 2.965 mg g-1 on the original goethite concentrate. The improvement might be attributed to the formation of micropores and thus the increase in the surface area.

The study aimed at investigating the chemical composition and microstructure of raw iron ore from the deposits in Muko area (south-western Uganda). The quality of this iron ore was evaluated to establish its suitability to serve as a raw material for iron production. Samples were taken from the six hills of Muko ore deposits and tests carried out to establish their composition and properties.

Hematite is one of the most abundant minerals on Earth's surface and in the shallow crust. It is an iron oxide with a chemical composition of Fe 2 O 3. It is a common rock-forming mineral found in sedimentary, metamorphic, and igneous rocks at locations throughout the world. Hematite is the most important ore of iron. Although it was once mined ...

(ICP-AES) technique. While the chemical compositions of the binder (bentonite) and the additives (hydrated lime and dolomite) were obtained by qualitative XRD analysis and elemental chemical analysis by x-ray fluorescence. Green pellets were produced in the laboratory using a dry mixture of iron ore (magnetite with 35% hematite), plus 4%

Sales of magnetite concentrate iron ore exported by analyzing 67% Fe at a rate of 28% FeO below 2 with low harmful elements (phosphorus and sulfur values lower than 0.08% and 0.05%), at a tonnage of 30,000 tonnes per day, by SIMURGH iron and steel company.

The reduction kinetics of hematite concentrate of an average particle size 21.3 µm by the above mentioned gases in the temperature range 1423 to 1623 K (1150 to 1350 °C) was investigated. Hematite concentrate particles can be reduced to > 90% by any of these reductants in several seconds of residence time typically available in a flash reactor.

Sep 25, 2010· Mineralogical analysis of the −0.053+0.02 mm fraction of the magnetic concentrate (test 2 in Table 5) showed that it had a hematite content of 68.9%, compared to the hematite content of 47.8% in the original −0.053+0.02 mm fraction.

Table 1 shows that the iron grade of Brazilian hematite concentrate arrives at 67% or more, the SiO2 content is 2.53% as mainly gangue composition, the harmful impuri-ties of S and P content are lower.
